About Us

Hi, we are husband and wife team Gareth and Jennifer with our Australian Shepherd Bow.

Both in our 40s, we decided during the first lockdown to have a “life” change. After some internet trawling, we found Burton Springs. A few zoom viewings, 1 crossing of an ocean and here we are, the proud owners. If you have a special surprise or anniversary you would like help organising, please do let us know. We hope you enjoy your stay with us, relaxing in the beautiful countryside and taking in those majestic sunsets.

Gareth

A sailor at heart, Gareth has spent the last 25years, racing yachts around the world (twice infact), crossing many oceans, and helping lots of people realise their dream of sailing a yacht. Gareth has been a skipper of all sizes (30ft-80ft yachts), raced in some of the worlds greatest yacht races and caught many a tuna/mahi-mahi off the back!
He has now decided along with wife Jennifer to change pace and become a land lover (for while anyway!) Gareth is a keen fisherman and hopes to spend some time on the lakes. He loves to be busy and is always up for a rum & coke and a good BBQ.

Jennifer

Having been born in Exeter and raised in Bridport, Jennifer would say that she has “come home”. Having spent over 20 years in London working within the TV industry making Factual programmes for the BBC, Channel4, Discovery and National Geographic. Jennifer’s father passed away in 2013 and this promoted a career change and a new adventure – sailing around the world, where she met husband Gareth on her travels. After selling the family business, they moved back to the country to begin Jennifer’s life long ambition of owning a campsite.

A keen photographer, cook and gardener, you’ll find her pottering around the site. Also, a big fan of music festivals, Jenn will disappear for a few days each summer to a field and dance the day away.

Bow

Bow, Mr B, Pupster he goes by all those names and more! He loves a good stick, chasing balls and meeting new fur friends. Bow is very friendly and just thinks everyone is his best mate. He is always out and about and keeping an eye on those fish! Please don’t feed him anything, as he does have a sensitive tummy. But footballs are his kryptonite, so watch out you might find an extra player suddenly joining in.
