Tent/caravan/motorhome pitches and our glamping pods/Lotus Belle tents
The Burton Springs Campsite is set in the peaceful hamlet of Burton,
surrounded by the beautiful Somerset Countryside.
If you are looking for camping in Somerset, this peaceful place is at the foot of the Quantock Hills and a nifty base for getting out around the Quantocks, the west Somerset and Exmoor coastline, and smashing Somerset settings like Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury Abbey, both under 20 miles away.
And if your group are fisherfolk? Cast off on site in the three handsome and well-stocked fishing lakes: there’s one each of coarse fishing,
carp fishing and cat fishing to keep all angling enthusiasts hooked. (Non-fisherfolk have plenty of wildlife to see, walks to wander
and quiet spots in which to hide with a book or three.)
The Burton Springs Campsite is well kept all round by its friendly family team. We have sparkling clean individual shower & washroom facilities, a washing-up area for guests’ use. There’s also a games room for all ages, with table football, air hockey, dartboard, a selection of board games, DVDs and reading material. There is a small play area, with a pirate ship and large swing in the camping pitch field.
Food and drink is also available to buy in the site shop.
Fishing is extra and MUST be pre booked.

Perfect, family friendly
Such a happy friendly place! Lots of useful information to be passed down, the owners Jen & Gareth are more than happy to help with anything information or advice. Always look forward to our next visit. Been 3 times now and just gets better each time, can't wait for next year to see what amazing things you've done with the placeponds and peace we’d recommend Burton Springs to anyone wanting to swap the rat race for fishing 😊
A trip to Burton Spring
Just had a lovely week down at Burton Springs the fishing was hard going on kingfisher but between two of us we managed 3 cats at 20lbish 35lb and a 48lb also an eel of 3,10(not bad for mid October) this was my first visit the place is lovely the pod was nice and comfy for the wife the grounds are well looked after with plans on a big maintenance program over the winter cant wait to see updates on the drain down in November.G and Jennifer are great hosts with Bow and Dexter bringing a smile to your face daily.if you have never fished the lakes at Burton Springs get your self booked on you wont be disappointed.
Happy Days at Burton Springs
Just had another lovely mini break at Burton Springs in our campervan. The new site owners are very friendly and it is well run but with a casual feel. The facilities are really good. Being able to hire fire pits and logs makes for a lovely evening atmosphere whilst sat outside enjoying a tipple or two! Saw the beautiful August Blue Moon and stars each night thanks to the dark skies. Oh, and I'm told the fishing is good! Can thoroughly recommend and we will be returning again soon.
A Gem of a Campsite!
Fantastic site, very welcoming from the owners, who took the time to involve the campsite kids with their dog exercises! Stayed in our caravan about 20m from the play area which was perfect for kids up to the age of about 11. Honesty shop was a bonus and the toilet/shower pods were spotlessly clean (big smile from the cleaning lady as she worked her magic 🙂) friendly campers and not too far off the main road. Local pub within (careful) walking distance which has a fantastic menu with lots of gluten free options- a rare find! Will happily come again!
Wonderful
We stayed in our Motorhome in this charming site. The lovely couple, Gareth and Jenifer greeted us and showed us to a hardstanding with electric in a sunny spot. The three lakes are well stocked and although we do not fish it was entertaining to watch them being caught. The whole area is outstandingly beautiful. Rural yet well maintained with clean toilets and showers. The walks round the lakes are very dog friendly with rare birds and rabbits in abundance. Its a quiet and relaxing area and a short walk down the lane, led us to the Babbling Brook. A very cosy and quaint pub. We did not eat there but the meals look massive. Very glad we have found this lovely place and can't wait to go back.
Amazing, relaxed, essentials provided
Our stay was only a couple nights however it was brilliant, extremely friendly owners, the environment was relaxed and far from being badly commercialised like other camp sites and we really enjoyed the amount of freedom we had for our dogs, even though they had to be on lead around the grounds the owners provided a lovely playing area for which the dogs could run free and play. I'd also like to add that we got a lovely surprise of wine, honey and a card congratulating us on our recent wedding. Would highly recommend this site and we will be returning even if it's just to see Bo and Dexter.
Stop Over
Just had a great 3 day break on our way back from Cornwall, nice fishing, facilities excellent, owners Gareth & Jennifer and dogs made us very welcome and have made so many improvements to the site in the last year it is great credit to them. Hope we are able to return in near future with friends and family for a longer break and plenty of fishing. I would highly recommend the site to any one whether to stay for site seeing or just fishing the shop has plenty of bait in stock. John & Val Farley
Burton Springs Somerset
We first stayed here in April 2021 and loved it so much we came again in July/august . Wow - where do we start? It’s an Amazing campsite and fishery with the most helpful and great owners! Gareth and Jennifer and not forgetting Bow and baby Dexter 🐶 🐶. Owners are knowledgeable, friendly and always there to help should you need any . We stayed in the fisherman’s rest pod as hubby fished (well we both did ) I blanked and he smashed his PB catfish twice in both trips , 55lb , 61lb and then topped it with a 66lb’r all caught on mackerel fillet . The site is very well run , clean and tidy and we will definitely be back ! Natalie and Dan x
Great place to stay
We recently spent one night in the standard Bell tent. We were 4 adults, there was plenty of room for us all, the tent was clean and Tidy also included plates, bowls, cups etc. Outside there was a 4 seater wooded table and a fire pit which we put to use in the evening using the supplied fire starter kit all included in the price. The toilets and shower block were nice and clean, showers were hot and powerful. There was use of a microwave and kettle to. The whole site is kept to a high standard nicely cut grass areas, we made use of Alder pool a general purpose fishing lake the swims are all newly built making it a comfortable spot to fish. 2 other lakes look just as well kept. I would highly recommend Burton Springs , the owners are friendly and approachable we only needed to ask if we required anything. We will definitely be back at some point.
Recent stay
Wow, what an incredible set up. My son & I recently stayed in one of the pods. It was clean, compact and lovely and cosy, with the added bonus of a fire pit which my son loved. The owners worked relentlessly everyday and the site and showers were incredibly clean. Gareth was full of advice to people fishing and I watched him sit with some youngsters until they caught - lovely touch. This was my second visit this year and will definitely be returning. Matt Emery
